Step into a space where the heart is honored and healing unfolds softly. Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation, stress reduction, and holistic healing. Through gentle touch or hands held above the body, it works with the concept of a universal “life force energy” that supports physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
The word Reiki combines Rei (“higher wisdom” or “spiritual guidance”) and Ki (“life force energy”), describing it as spiritually guided life-force energy. A session often feels like a warm, soothing radiance that brings deep relaxation, peace, and a sense of safety.
Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement. It can be used alongside any medical or therapeutic treatment and is widely offered in healthcare settings to ease stress, support recovery, and provide comfort. The National Institutes of Health classifies Reiki as an “energy therapy,” and an estimated six million U.S. adults have received Reiki treatments. About 10–15% of U.S. medical facilities now provide Reiki as a complementary modality.
I encourage you to have several hours after your session to be in a peaceful, quiet environment. This is a wonderful time to be out in nature and to spend time alone with yourself. Journaling after your session can also be helpful. It’s common that, when you spend time in reflection afterward, you may see or feel things in new ways.
The Reiki energy will continue to work with you for days after your session. It will be clearing and aligning your system. Pay attention throughout the week to how your thoughts, feelings, or perceptions may shift. You have brought a “Great Light” into your field—one that is deeply loving and supportive. Remember that light transforms darkness every time, without exception.
